The National Maritime Museum is the only general maritime museum in Belgium. It boasts a collection of around 100,000 items, ranging from a uniform button... to actual boats. The maritime history of our regions (Belgium, Northern France, and the Netherlands) is central in the museum's collection policy. The maritime park, next to the museum building, displays actual ships and archaeological findings. Opening hours Museum: from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lightship "West-Hinder" (Bonaparte dock): from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Maritime park (next to the museum): from Easter to the end of October from 10 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. Museum library: to visit the reading room, please make an appointment (by telephone)
